Interested to know Mellon's process... More than a few people around these parts seem to think you can only tune properly from a dyno...the only exceptions locally are the Banana-tuned cars and, now, UAE Evo's Mellon-tuned car. I'd love to hear a tuner set them straight as all I can say is that my car runs like a gem too

If you're serious about going the Mellon/Ecuflash route then the first thing you need to do is get your hands on a Tactrix cable. That's the hard part, the rest is software. I recommend that you download/purchase evoscan and ecuflash but just work your way around using Evoscan yourself first for datalogging and WAIT FOR YOUR TUNER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM PRECISELY when using Ecuflash. Evoscan merely reads what your car is doing, Ecuflash can read AND write to and form your ECU and can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR ECU if you don't know how to use it. It's not as bad as it sounds - just do yourhomework, trust your tuner and follow their instructions to the letter when using Ecuflash and you'll be fine. I'm very happy with my Ecuflash tune and my tuner, Banana, and ended up getting a very good result in the end. I know for a fact that the car is tuned as aggressively as it can be while returning me ZERO knocks in all gears at WOT on 93 octane pump gas and running 1.8 bar of boost even after driving balls out hard for 10-15 minutes in the middle of the day...which is exactly what I want for my autocross and tracking activities. I'm sure if I had had my car tuned on a dyno it could make a little more power but there'd be no telling how reliable it'd be in the real world. I have no idea how much power my car actually makes and don't care - the powerband is frikkin' awesome and the tune is rock solid reliable according to my logs and that's what matters to me. We did take it a little further with the timing and fueling but started getting knocks so then backed it down that extra notch until it was fine again so I KNOW it's right in the sweet spot. Anyhow, if you get the goods and get comfortable with datalogging your car I'll leave it to Mellon to guide you from there. Sorry if you already know all this stuff, just making sure..In the right hands Ecuflash and a good tuner is IMHO one of *the* best ways of getting the perfect street tune for your car, especially considering our climates, without having to resort to major huge bucks doing the Motec-dyno-tuning shop thing. Don't want any dead Evo/Ecoflash horror stories, only asskicking ones. Best of luck.

Whoah just looked at your mod list CHris - seems someones on a bit of a binge!
Any reason you're opting for the big turbo/built 2.0 route as opposed to going foor a stroker?
Also curious what you think of the FP Reds if you've come across any in the wild - probably my only option for a turbo upgrade (unless my IX GT turbo craps out prematurely and I have to panic buy a used stock IX turbo somewhere - mechanic has already given me "the warning")

Yeah when I bought the evo I told my wife the EVO would be the stock daily driver hahaha oh well.
because I'm mostly into drag/street racing it's important that I do not have to shift to 5th gear and lose precious time/mph since it's an overdrive. Most of the strokers can't handle trips to 9-10,000 rpm in 4th gear and will require that shift to 5th before the finish line.
I wish the red was available a long time ago, it's considerably better than the green which only gave me 35awhp over the stock turbo.
the way I see it your turbo options are:
stock
red
35R
